On tap at the brewpub in San Antonio.

Appearance: Pours golden with a semi-durable head that leaves good lacing.

Feel: Light body and near medium carbonation. A bit watery,

Flavor: Good balance. Light-roasted grain flavor with a complementary touch of hops. Too mild.

O: Certainly not a bad version, but this is a style I seldom like much. Still, better than their similar Texican.

On tap at the brewpub.

The beer pours a golden color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of biscuit malt, as well as some yeast and lemon notes. The flavor is a little bit different. I get the same biscuit and lemon notes, but I also get some grain and banana notes. The banana is actually quite strong and was unexpected and doesn't really go with the other notes. Creamy, medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This tastes more like a hefeweizen blended with a pilsner.

A - Pours golden copper with a small white head.

S - Spicy, grassy hops balanced by bready malt aromas.

T - Dominated by grainy and bready malt, with earthy hop flavors and bitterness playing second fiddle. Balance seemed to improve slightly as it warmed.

M - Medium-bodied with a crisp, clean finish. Carbonation is right where it needs to be.

O - A bit of a disappointment. It's a decent beer, and fairly enjoyable, but there are better pilsners out there. This one is very forgettable.

On draft at the brewpub in San Antonio.

Pours a cloudy dark golden Ripe banana yellow with light golden yellow hues when held to a light source and a one finger frothy white head with decent retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap.

Slightly hoppy aroma with subtle bready yeast, pilsner malt, crisp light fruit notes, grass and straw. I'm picking up some apple and pear which along with the bready yeast notes provide an interesting balance in the nose.

Surprisngly full bodied for the style but still extremely refreshing and quaffable. Very similar to the aroma with a nice touch of bready yeast adding complexity to the crisp light fruit notes and pilsner malt. Hints of apple and pear along with hints ob earthy grass and straw. I'm not the bggest fan of this style but I really enjoyed this beer.

Light gold in color, with the expected malt profile and hop aroma. I did not feel that the bitterness of this beer was as aggressive as it should have been for this style (although, maybe they are trying to get more swill-beer beer drinkers to sample their product and don't want to turn them off). This is a perfectly drinkable beer, but just an ok beer.
