Served on cask at the brewpub in San Antonio.
Pours a very cloudy dark golden amber orange color with dark golden orange edges when held to a light source and a frothy 1.5 finger head. Excellent retention only slowly fading into a lasting cap. Sporadic chunks of soapy lacing left behind.
Sweet citrus hop aroma with hints of lemon and orange peel along with a slightly toasty caramel biscuit malt presence. Slight lactic creaminess in the nose.
Creamy medium body that's on the thinner side with a slight earthy dryness from the hops as well as some citrus fruit and slight tropical fruit notes. Hints of grapefruit, orange peel and mango with a slight tart funkiness and a bit too prominent of a malt backbone. Slightly roasted malt presence but it's dominated by the dry funk earthy characteristic.
