Sampled at McMenamin's Six Arms in Seattle, WA. Note - it's hard to say whether this was the exact beer I had there since their menu/beer list did not give the names of the beers; only the syles.

Served with a wedge of lemon on my glass, which I promptly discarded. Slightly cloudy straw color. Interesting that this one was less cloudy than their IPA! A faint bit of yeast-induced spice in the aroma. Very crisp and clean malt flavor, balanced nicely with spicy noble hops. Nice dry finish with just a hint of tartness. Very light mouthfeel. Pretty decent. I bet it would have gone down even better if it was warm outside.

Edgefield Wheat is drinkable but unexceptional. It is nicely clouded – the color of radiant flan custard. (An obvious comparison, for Portland, if nothing else, is a town teaming with radiant flan custard.) The scant aroma is enhanced by a wedge of lemon. There is no head, infrequent lace, and not a whole lot of flavor. Still, McMenamins’ everyday wheat ale is clean and makes for a wholesome food compliment when your attentions are not exclusively focused on beer.

Came with a lemon wedge on the edge - Boo, Hiss! Cloudy yellow hue under a one finger white head with fair retention and a bit of lace (except where the lemon juice had slid down the side of the glass). The nose is mild and slightly fruity. The mouth was appropriately light and prickly. The flavor featured lots of wheat and yeast, without either the spice or the fruit one would expect. Essentially no hops were noticeable. This is smooth and drinkable, but hardly exceptional.
