One heck of a head on this one! Big on the smells as well, heavy on the coco. I notice the liquorice flavor first, along with alot of roasted stuffs Firm bitterness with a nutty after taste. A bold mouthfeel with extream drinkability. Killed the growler all by my loansome.

Visited my local MacMenamins yesterday evening and saw this on tap for the first time.
Lovelly looking stout very dark brown in colour ,almost black with a magnificent tan creamy head.
Very roasty aroma to this one, almost burnt oat.
Very very nice taste to this one, dark, bitter chocolate followed by burnt notes, woody, winey with actually some hops in the end.
Very smooth and creamy on the palate. excellent.
Very very good beer..the best McMenamins by far. Also quite strong.
I am not sure if this is limited to Thompsons Brewpub in Salem.
