Aptly named, McMenamins Chocolate Cream Stout delivers its intent with smooth creamy delight accented but not dominated by true chocolate flavor. The creaminess is actually quite abundant and while it is notably enhanced by the nitro infusion, it is not reliant upon it. The aroma is light and complimentary with a slight suggestion of mint.
This stout is nearly dry enough to pass for a dry stout though presumably it is brewed with some measure of lactose. The taste sensation is appealing and articulated solidly enough to transcend novelty, making this a very drinkable session stout.
Served on nitro at the Bagdad Cafe, Portland.
