This beer is sure to make a believer out of any skeptic! Orbiting above the Alienator IPA are tropical, fruity aromas provided by a thorough dry-hopping using Mosaic and Citra Hops. This tasty recipe yielded a fascinating orange hue complete with luminous hop flavor. Alienator's lush aroma and distinct hop character is perfect for those who prefer their ales strong, hoppy and a little out-of-this-world.

a bit more malt structure to this one than their 33rd state which i had right before it. its copper colored, got that almost english base to it, but still typically northwestern in terms of the hop profile, fresh and balanced and tasty and not even really old school despite the malt, these guys make better beer than they get credit for most of the time. definite grain sweetness in aroma and flavor, a hint of honey and something a little deeper than that too, more caramelized, with some hop bitterness against it balancing, and some fruity hop wrinkles in between, lemon, grapefruit, and even pineapple, which makes it more modern than most that start out with this level of malt. there is an obvious freshness to it, a familiar yeast character that i get in almost all their beers, and a little oily pop on the tongue which carries the hops. juniper and grapefruit to finish, baked bread, uplifting carbonation. its got a long flavor journey but it ends up dried than expected and actually isnt all that full bodied for its color, good four season ipa then. overall not their most radical or intriguing beer, but a solid offering, well balanced and sort of timeless. well done.

Pint at The Lighthouse Brewpub in Lincoln City.
$6.25
Pours a semi hazy copper colour. Small cream colored head. Great lace.
Hops are subdued as usual at McMenamins..but they are virus and floral.
Nice balanced flavor. Citrus, floral , caramel and even dankness.
Mouth feel is very smooth and full. Rolled oats are used in the beer..and it shows.
Good easy IPA.
