I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the McMenamins Anderson School in Bothell, WA.
Appearance: rich orange hue with a moderate haze and a finger of creamy tan foam. I quite like it.
Smell: fresh and citrusy hops are the main element here. There's an underlying sweetness as well, and overall it's quite good.
Taste: big hops up front with a nicely citrusy character and a sweetish, somewhat toasty malt base. There's a light spiciness from the rye -- a successful brew.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a darn successful rye beer; it strikes a good balance between the spicy grain and bright hops.
