I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the McMenamins Six Arms in Seattle.
Appearance: black hue with a thick finger of creamy dark tan foam. Really good.
Smell: sweet and roasty. Definitely a nice charry character here with licorice, toffee and a dark fruit sensibility.
Taste: like the aroma, this beer is complex. Sweet, but balanced with plenty of char and rich fruit flavor: dates, raisins and even a little fresh tobacco. Really good.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a well-integrated carbonation and a very good creaminess.
Overall: this is one outstanding export stout. World class - it competes with the best the style has to offer.
