I had this on tap at the McMenamin's on High St., Eugene, OR. It poured a light golden-red color with some head and some lacing. The smell was of sweet floral hops. Taste was also of sweet hops up front, then turning bitter, but still quite refreshing. I found it very similar to their Hammerhead Ale, except with less of an after-kick of hops.

Said to be a near cousin of McMenamins Hammerhead Ale, but with a bit more attitude. Heavy Hand has a light, red-malt aroma with flattering bitterness driving home a welcome gutsy edge. It is a raw but appealing beer of clouded russet and a sustained finish. Psychedelic lace and a scrappy head make it complete.
