The Brethren was served to me in a pint glass in the Ringlers portion of the Crystal.
Appearance: Not like the dubbels Im used to, this beer appears a clear copper with a thin off-white head.
Aroma: Strongly boozey, strawberry jam, marmalade, and sweet fruity yeast.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Again, this is a dubbel? Very strong. Alcohol is not covered well. Loads of fruit jams. Very sweet. As it warms a smidge of hops comes through to begin a balance but by that time my tastes are burned from the booze anyways.
Drinkability: One and done.
Not really a bad beer but not in fitting with the style in the slightest.
