Tropic Heat is a kettle soured ale brewed with pink guava puree, coconut and habanero peppers. The heat contribution from the peppers is very minimal and creates a pleasant background quality that lingers. This slight spiciness accentuates the fruity, full guava taste that is this beer's foundation. Coconut was also added to pleasantly blend all of the fine flavors together.

Don't really remember this beer and I'm not a fan of sours but this is a little different with the peppers. I like the little heat that it adds to the beer. Not great but a different spin on things. Rated 2018

still no category on BA here for american kettle sour, despite the addition of a bunch of new style options when adding a beer. in any event, this is probably closest to a berliner, wheat based, soured up front, fermented clean. its nice beer, featuring an odd combination of ingredients including coconut, pink guava, and habanero peppers, which usually intimidate me in beer, but they have done a wonderful job extracting flavor and character from the pepper without making it too hot to drink, awesome work on that! the distinctive citrus character of the pepper is all over this, amazing with the coconut and just a little warm going down, but clean, not a total palate ruiner. the guava provides some juicy tropical sweetness, which offsets some of the lactic sourness in here, which lemony and pretty tart, but also clean so not too disruptive to the flow here. lots of flavor in this one, very tropical, very interesting, almost intense because of the pepper flavor, but it fades out as citrus not as heat. the natural coconut here really ties it all together, so nice with the pepper and really summery. this was impressively good, especially for how weird the ingredients are!
