L: A murky cocoa looking beverage - it's hard to believe this is beer except for a nice one finger head with superb lacing.
S: Dates, raisins, molasses saturate the smell of toast and malts.
T: Wonderful and decadent, it reminds me a lot of a barleywine. Rich and raisiny sweetness, chocolate milk, and more on the toffee note that the style sometimes tends towards, but better for it IMO.
F: Thicker and creamier than expected for a 9% ABV. Little carbonation but sufficient.
O: Really good but the sweetness and lovely dark fruits allowed the alcohol to sneak up on me. A great sipper!
