1.5l Mason jar from Thompsons Public House Salem. Aroma..like most McMen brews it is subdued and weak though not bad in any way. Good deep golden hazy appearance..witha nice light tan head. The taste is were this beer excelles. I have had many so called rye based ales but none really had the complex flavours of goodrye bread..this is the exception.. this is delicious like eating freshly baked rye bread with some hops and a good dash of caramel hops WONDERFUL stuff. Palate is excellent..thick and chewy. Overall a very very good example of using rye ..a bgood beer. I had despaired of the brewer at Thompsons recently..but she sure knows how to brew the more unusual beers. She is wasted there.
