cool to see some new stuff on tap during our recent visit to hotel oregon, always a pleasure visiting and staying there. this is pretty dense, but also very juicy, modern hazy ipa if not amazingly well refined. it pours murky orange, a shade more rust colored than a lot of these, super frothy head and thick ring lacing as it drinks, sudsy and excited in the glass. the nose on it is peachy, with pineapple candy and tangerine notes, juicy and fresh with some herbal bitterness and only faint oversaturated green character, a bit of grain stew underneath but i like the hops on this a lot. some yeastiness in the flavor, more of that as it warms, navel orange and cantaloupe ripeness, peach and apricot too, itd be cleaner hops without so much grain kind of pulling at it, which disrupts the summery fruitiness, wheaty and a little raw to me. the yeast also stands out perhaps more than it needs too, which takes a little spotlight off the hops as well, but i think overall this has good balance, i just want it to finish a little faster and not feel quite so full. ive known these guys for more older school types of hoppy beer, so this was a neat one on their menu and i think it checks a lot of the boxes for the style, good hop profile, frothy texture, juice forward. a couple of small edits away from really popping off...
