a tasty and super clean light lager in the canadian style, light bodied and easy drinking, minimally hopped, and more crisp and refined than i generally know their beer to be, the quality here is very high. its yellow and clear and glowing, really light and bubbly, with a light biscuity thing to the grain, not quite pils-like in the base, but pale and easy like that with just a big of earthy character to me in the nose and the taste, clean and mineral forward, nice with the near neutral lager yeast adding a lovely snappy finish to it. the hops are faintly bitter and bring just a bit of herbal freshness, well out of the way and nonconfrontational. subtle clay-like minerality, a hint of mid palate sweetness before it dries out on the swallow. this is beer flavored beer through and through, its refreshing and light without seeming thin or dumbed down really at all, i love the fresh malt complexion and i think the lagering is expert. simple stuff, but in a lot of ways this is a new high water mark for quality for these guys in my experience, a great beer, and props for what appears to be a letterkenny reference. very repeatable lager.
