A refreshing copper-orange hued summer pale ale produced with all organically grown malted barley. Hop flavor and aroma are provided by Centennial and Amarillo hops which are used in the latter stages of each batch and intermingle delightfully to generate a citrusy & flowery olfactory experience. The outcome is a smooth, flavorful summer draught.

On tap, pours a golden copper, slightly hazy with a fine lacy head. Very faint floral aroma, not noticeable until near the end of the glass as the beer warms up. Advertised as having a strong aroma hop presence, lighter on the buttering hops - however I get mostly a late bitter taste that lingers on the palate. Very smooth with a nice mouthfeel but the strong bitter finish makes it hard to appreciate the malt bill all that well - you get a hint of it right up front... Overall not bad, but I think could be a lot better with a shift towards more aroma and bittering hops.

This beer was another mcmenamins dissapointment ale. The appearance looks alright; its a nice clear amber color. The head lacing is alright, but disappears quickly. The taste is all hop and very little malt. I do not know if they only use huge amounts of bittering hops for this beer and no aroma hops at all, but that is the impression I get. This beer is also very thin and has a terrible aftertaste that is strongly metallic (maybe thats where the copper in the name comes from).
Overall, this is not a remarkable beer, but for all you folks that thank copious amounts of hops are all you need to make a good beer, you might like it.

Sampled 7/17/2011 at the Vancouver WA location (on the Columbia).
Pours clear amber, some white head that doesnt last long.
Aroma is mostly bitter and malty with some light hop presence including a bit of pine and flowers.
Flavor is malty, bitter, caramel, a tiny bit citrusy, not all that exciting really but refreshing all the same.
Light body, drinkable.
