I had this on-tap at the McMenamins in Mill Creek, WA.
Appearance: rich amber orange hue with a little haze in the body. Head is a finger of creamy ivory foam. Good!
Smell: caramelly malt with a mild piney/resiny hop aroma. Decent, but pretty low-volume for a DIPA.
Taste: big malty flavor with plenty of caramel. Hops are resiny, earthy and citrusy. Good flavor with a massive slap of bitterness at the end.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and good creaminess. I like it.
Overall: not as huge of an aroma and flavor as I usually expect from a DIPA. While I like the taste of this beer, it could be a little bit more to-style (more double-ey, with a much bigger aroma).
