On tap at McMenamin's Roseburg.

This is a malty, creamy, fruity IPA. Those aren't the terms you usually associate with IPAs. You'll notice I didn't say "hoppy" or "bitter" because the hops are subdued and the bitterness is quite low for an IPA.

So this isn't quite what you might expect from an IPA but it's a tasty beer!

On-tap at the Roseburg Station McMenamins outlet in Roseburg, OR.

Pours a pale, hazy orange hue, with a filmy white head. Lacing is fine, in fact very fine and very nice. The colour is bright: overall it looks pretty tasty.

Nose is immediately sweet and fruity: jammy even with stewed apricot compote. There's a hint of shrpness to it. Something more akin to pepper, but the fruitiness is the main event. The malt comes through as well, adding some body and complexity to the sweetness. Smells great.

Taste is similar. It has a big juiciness to it, which squeezes out stone-fruit jam from the edges of the palate. Smooth and rich, and very pleasant. The sweetness is not overt or sickly: it's fruity and fragrant. Feel is very smooth, which aids this.

Really nice IPA all up. I like the sweetness and the richness of the fruit. It's nicely balanced as well, and very drinkable. Great stuff.
