Brewed at Roseburg Station and on tap there. Attractive dark brown with a golden glint. Modest but long-lasting foam. Malt and a hint of wine barrels in the nose.
Rich and roasted flavors. A really nice chestnut and dark caramel taste. Slightly sweet, distinctly malty. Some dark cocoa flavor along with a touch of cedar. A little tartness that balances the malt. I keep thinking there is a winey character to this. the hops provide some bitter backbone with just a touch of aromatics. A great quaff on the dark side.
