This place is situated in the big Thurn und Taxis complex. It is a very newish-looking place inside where you can see the copper-kettles or sit int he very nice biergarten.

The beirgarten is where me and my friends sat. We got there jsut when it opened it seemed and got quick service.

They offer a lot of Thurn und Taxis beers in the bottle as well as 3 regular house-brewed taps and 1 seasonal tap. This time the seasonal was Blonden Engel, a maibock.

The beer is great, I had a roggenbier and a pils and both were pretty good and the roggen outstanding. You could buy the glassware at a shop around the corner.

I got the Knackers and they were delicious with some tasty sauerkraut.

Overall this is a worthy stop in Regensburg.

In the southern section of the old town, right next to Thurn & Taxis castle.

Lovely patio section both in the courtyard out front and in the back section where we sat. Inside had tables and booths, with two big copper tuns behind the bar.

It was quiet on a weeknight, so service was fast. We got English menus, but I tried to get by with the German one. On the Beer side, the Kellerbier looked inviting, but I went with the Marzen and the Dunkle which were good, but I've had better. Freshness wasn't an issue at all, maybe a little more body would have been appreciated. The food was classical German fare, I went all out with the big ol'pork plate. The skin was fatty and crunchy, almost like duck skin. Oh yeah.

Highly recommended stop in Regensburg.
