I bought a six pack of this beer from my local Kroger store. It poured a clear dark amber with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had bread and subtle smoke notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with rich malt base and nice hop clean finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Poured from a can into a pint glass.
Appearance : Dark reddish tones topped by a thick, frothy head. Appears a deep garnet color when viewed with light filtering through
Smell : Burnt and toasty with masked nutty undertones
Taste : Nutty, aftertaste is bitter
Mouthfeel : Highly carbonated, my tongue was very tingled
Overall : I found the carbonation to be a bit distracting from some of the flavors, but in general I found this to be a hearty and flavorful beer

A: The beer is clear but very dark red in color - too dark to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high frothy off white head that has good retention properties.
S: Light aromas of dark and nutty malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of nutty malts and sweet malt extracts.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and smooth on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn’t especially complex, but I liked the combination of sweet and nutty malts.
Serving type: can

I agree with some of the other reviews on this, the flavor is good but it is not complex. There is not much hop flavor and the drinkability is high. Overall I like it and would drink it again if I was in the mood for a brown ale.

A little too simple for the price. Rich but not complex.

Compared to most other craft brown ales I’ve had, this one lacks some aroma, feels thinner, and seems to aim for simple drinkability. It’s a decent beer but loses points for not striving for more flavor or depth of character.

Deep red brown color with tan cap and lacing.
Aroma of clean roasted malt and that's about the sum of what I get but no negatives.
Taste of clean roasted malt (yes, that again) without any roasty bitterness. It reminds me of some Amber AALs I've had in the past but the flavors are richer and deeper than those. Really can't say I get any hop presence, or, for that matter, much of anything other than slightly roasted malt. Simple flavor but found in abundance which is to say tasty and a moreso sort of brew compared to Amber AALs.
Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.
Uninteresting but pleasant change of pace if you reach the destination by chance having taken a misturn on the road to Hopville.
