A: Dark brown in color, with a tan head.

S: Syrupy malt with a touch of spice character. Vanilla in the finish.

T: Sweet malt, a little syrupy, and a vanilla extract twang in there.

M: Medium in body with a somewhat smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

O: Overall interesting, but feels like a mass produced version of a dark brew. Feels artificial.

Pours a nice rich caramel color with two fingers of a soapy light brown head. Lots of carbonation showing on the side of my tulip glass. Nice lacing sliding down the sides of the glass.

Smells of vanilla and chocolate come to the nose. Some toasted notes of some malts, not roasted but more of a toasted note. Very nice almost candy sweet smell sort of like a soft caramel candy that comes in those clear plastic wrappers.

Taste is chock full! Picking up soft notes of vanilla some chocolate and slight hint of stone fruits. Also getting some hints of chocolate and caramel along with a bit of roasted, not toasted now, malts.

Mouth feel is definitely a nice thick medium feel that fills the mouth with a chewy yummy beer. The finish is fairly clean leaving just a little slick with nice lingering flavors of yumminess.

This is an exceptionally good beer! It seems to be chock full of complex flavors. Looks beautiful, but maybe not quite looking like a porter yet tasting like one. The mouthfeel seems appropriate for a slightly sweet roasted porter. The smell is so inviting and pleasent. Has a best by on the bottom of the can. And that artwork on the can is another standout. Look for this one if you are a fan of porters.

Drank straight from the can. Nice minimalist packaging and 6-pack design. Says it is contract brewed by Abita. Smell is lovely, dominant vanilla, dark malt and a touch of cocoa. Taste is sweet, with strong vanilla overtones over toasted malt. Low to non-existent hop flavor. Mouthfeel is velvety with the faintest hint of astringency. Overall an easy sipping dark sweet ale, vanilla flavor is too dominant though and could use a more complex flavor profile and hop presence.

Poured into a Reuben's Brew small snifter. Pours a very dark orange red with a fine, two finger light khaki head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of faint dark malt and vanilla, mild. Flavor is light toasted, somewhat biscuit malt, vanilla and nuts. Finishes with slightly astringent vanilla and light hops. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess, good mouth feel. An odd dark ale that is closer to a porter than anything else, but with a rather subdued malt flavor. Vanilla is the dominant flavor, and fortunately its not overdone, because the malt probably wouldn't have supported it. The muted flavors aside, it tastes pretty good and isn't a bad idea. A bit more robustness to the malt and this might have been notable. The look and mouth feel are very good. An interesting offbeat ale from a brewery that seems to have shown up out the blue with a few styles. Turns out the Unveiled Brewing Company is a shell brewery name for good old World Brews. Somewhat ironic crafty brewery name.
