Pours a slightly hazy orange with a 1 inch foamy bone colored head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of sweet malt and caramel. Taste is of malty syrup, sugar, and the faintest flavor of metallic-tasting hops. There is a slightly medicinal bitterness with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with a thick and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor excuse for a pale ale.

What should one expect when buying a 'pale ale' from the dollar store? With low expectations in tow I cracked the single Walker Brown Pale Ale and poured into a pint glass; it poured an orange-brown with a slight head that quickly receded. Aromas of wet grains, soaked cardboard and a hint of some bready malts await those ready to partake in this beer. Tastes of cheap hops provide a touch of bitterness, but the hop quality reminds me of the sludge left at the bottom of the kettle when you finish your 60 minute hopping session of homebrew; maybe these Rochester, NY contract brewers reuse their hops for these junk brands? Mouthfeel is on the thinner side, but not out of place for this style. I would personally prefer a domestic macrolager over something masquerading as craft. Would only buy if it was a $3 sixer.

Orange in color, awkwardly just about the same color as Walker Brown Amber Ale. White head displays moderate retention and lacing. Aroma is is soapy and citrusy, some hops are there if I concentrate, as well as solvent and malt. Flavor is soapy, citrusy, and solvent, finish is astringent with some plastic flavor. Light bodied, with high carbonation, a bit thin but who really cares when I can't wait to get the taste out of my mouth. Avoid, this is pretty bad, the worst pale ale I've had in a long time.
