Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance- The beer pours a hazy golden-orange color with a two finger billowy white head. The head has a fantastic level of retention slowly fading over time to leave a great level of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell- The aroma of the brew is heaviest of wheat and an orange citrus but has a decently strong aroma of yeast and spice. The spice is heaviest of coriander and clove and when mixed with the other aromas produces a rather standard wit aroma.

Taste- The taste follows starts with a yeasty and wheaty flavor. The orange citrus flavor is also present upfront and throughout the taste with the spice flavors developing more toward the middle of the taste. The sweetness of the brew remains on the lighter side throughout the whole of the taste, much more dry then would have been expected. At the end a rather more bitter flavor of lemon and some grass and hay come to the tongue leaving a somewhat bitter and astringent flavor on the tongue.

Mouthfeel-The body of the beer is rather average in its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation that is rather medium for the style and strength. Overall fine for the flavors of the beer and they make for a rather easy drinking brew overall.

Overall – The beer looks great but unfortunately leaves a slightly off bitter and lightly puckering astringent flavor to linger on the tongue. Nothing really all that fantastic I must say and one I will not frequent any time soon.

Pours a murky light orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, wheat, and subdued spice and citrus aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and slight citrus flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a slightly below average beer that isn't really all that bad but the flavors are just bland.

Bottle acquired as part of a variety 12-pack at my local Von's grocery store. Reviewed live. Expectations are below average; I wasn't fond of the other beers from the box I've had. 5.4% ABV confirmed. 12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a Uinta brewing pilsner glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Feliz, Los Angeles, California.

Served cold, straight from the fridge. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a three finger head of white colour. Nice thickness. Slight cream. Pretty good (~5-6 minute) retention. Body colour is a clear translucent pale yellow. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show. Appears filtered - quite strange for a witbier. Not looking very good so far.

Sm: Pale malts, overly heavy sweet caramalt. Vague cotton candy. Light floral hops. No yeast character or alcohol is detectable. A below average strength aroma. Quite off for a witbier. Unrefreshing.

T: Sweet caramalt. Pale malts. Overly sweet. Light cotton candy. No yeast character or alcohol comes through. Very simple, boring, and bland. Not at all what I'd expect from a good witbier. Unrefreshing. Hop character is generic and floral.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Overcarbonated. Not at all to style. Doesn't suit the flavour profile well. Unrefreshing. Clean. Artificial.

Dr: Drinkable but underwhelming. I'm not a big fan of it at all. Horribly executed for a witbier. I definitely wouldn't get this again. Quite a poor effort. I have the feeling the other two bottles from the variety box will be sitting around for a bit before I get round to them.

Poured chilled in ribbed ale

A: cloudy medium orange; very robust carbonation; medium-sized head moves down into thin creamy head; great lacing
S: nice bouquet of hops; sweet violet aroma persists nicely
T: flavorful Belgian-style ale; semicomplex; the yeast flavor is a bit stunted, but answered by the bright hop flavors; the combination turns this away from a classic Belgian, but the result is still pleasant
M: lively

I enjoyed this much more than World Brews' DoubleTake IPA, so makes me inclined to try others.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a weizen glass. No best-by date. Purchased as part of a 12-pack of similar beers. Reviewed live.

A- Half-finger white head with rapid erosion. Heavy carbonation, light orange color with partial clarity. Not a very attractive beer. Could be worse though.

S- Buttery, spicy. Coriander, orange, wheat. Citrusy and grassy.

T- Slightly spicy, citrusy, and wheat and biscuity backbone. Not bad.

M- Well-carbonated, not smooth.

O- I wouldn't go as far as to say it is bad. But not good.
