On-tap 4/5/2014 at Watch City Brewpub, in Waltham, MA served in a snifter glass.
A: The beer is a coppery red color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains wheat, caramelized malts, Belgian yeast, some spice, some citrus and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out bready with strong flavors of wheat, Belgian yeast and a hearty malt character. Then some sweet flavors of caramel and citrus come in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, it’s a decent beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

Mini growler was poured into a large snifter.
Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that reduced to a thin layer. It is an untraditional amber color with some haziness and slight vision of bubbles coming up through the glass.
Smell: Banana, clove, spices, bready malts, vanilla, apple, and pear.
Taste: Same as above with yeasty notes and a little bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, chewy, a little booze, spicy, a little bitterness, medium to light bodied, and low to medium carbonation.
Overall: As for the untraditional color of the beer, this was actually an enjoyable imperial wit. It might not look like one by the appearance, but all other traditional characteristics are there. Hopefully there is more to get another growler fill.
