On-tap 1/15/2010 at the brewpub in Waltham, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is faint but contains light caramelized malts, some hops and some citrus.
T: The taste starts sweeter than most beers in the style with flavors of caramel and citrus. Then a subdued but complementary hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and provides some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Smooth and very crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.
D: Very tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a very nice sessionable beer that has flavor and substance without being too heavy and is worth drinking for a long time.

Perhaps one could call this uber-pilsner as it does not fit the "pilsner" profile. The appearance is too dark, closer to amber. This version produced an appropriate head; little lace; clear
Excellent hop aroma, perhaps slightly more than I would expect--not that I'm complaining. The flavor follows this pattern--far more hoppy than I'd expect from a pils. The body is also richer and has the feel of an ale (more round than crisp).
In short, this is a tasty beer but not really true to the style. I'm not sure, but I believe that this was not lagered. It is darker, richer and more hoppy than I thought it should be. AND I enjoyed it.

Pours crystal clear yellow, with a miniscule white head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma is fairly clean, with a grassy hoppiness being the prominent aroma. Flavor is a bit sweet to starts, and ends with a fairly strong grassy and slightly spicy hoppiness. On the thin side of medium, nicely drinkable.
