Had on tap during a BA get together. Cloudy amber when served, the low white head gave off sweet creamy cereal grain. This overt grainyness carried through in the taste. I find this alot with lagers, and enjoy it more when it isn't so overt. There was some feelting maltiness near the finish. I also thought this beer was pretty sweet, almost cloying.

I love Maibocks, so I just had to try this with lunch today.

Poured a medium copper, tawny brown color, and was mostly clear within. The bartender filled the pint to the rim, hence no head room. Not sure there would have been much anyhow....what was there seemed to dissipate very quickly. Just had some thin, wispy threads of bubbles at the edge, with just a touch of lacing. Still, an attractive hue.

The aroma was... was... where was it? Verry mild, with light hints of breadiness and malty action. Way too understated.

This bier had a real nice mouthfeel: a solid medium body and creamy smooth on the tongue.

Flavor was replete with bready malt and was lightly toasty. Has an easy-drinking, light sweetness at the start to middle, then has a hit of some hop spiciness to tidy things up at the end. A decent offering.... had 2 pints... wish I'd had room for more.

Prosit!!

This beer poured from the growler a bright, slightly hazy copper to gold color with a nice sized white head. The head retained well, but didn’t leave much lace to speak of. The aroma is a subtle blend of malt, with hints of figs and dates, and just a light touch of hops in the forma of a citrus back. The taste is a nice Bavarian malt blast. It comes at you as sweet candy and figs. The hops really blend well to give the flavor a light character. I can’t really say it’s a citrus or hop flower, it just lends a tanginess to the flavor. The mouth feel is rich and full, and it has a great drinakbility. Aaron really does a nice job on this beer, I like my Maibock a little more golden in color, but despite that one minor flaw, this beer measures up well

Sampled on tap at the brewpub. 6.6% ABV, 29 IBU.

This maibock poured a very slightly hazy red-brown color with off-white foam that settled but clung to the inside of the glass a bit. The smell was malty with a distinct Munich malt aroma. There was a hint of sweetness and fruitiness in the aroma, too. The taste was malty with a good bit of Munich malt in the flavor. The taste was sweet up front but with a dry finish. There was a moderate amount of hop bitterness but it was well balanced by malt. The mouthfeel was smooth with medium body and good carbonation. The maltiness lingered. This was a pretty good maibock though perhaps could use a bit more body.
