Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a deep, vibrant, amber-brown coloring with a thin, filmy white head. Aromas are roasty and nutty sweet, with mild hops presence and a pumpkin sweetness. Flavors are roasted and bready, with a buttery sweet overtone and a touch of bitter hops. Slightly bitter aftertaste, with a smooth, rich body leading to a clean, slick finish. Tasty.

On tap at the brewpub.

Pours a clear dark amber/orange, thick slightly off white head forms, settles down to a thick ring, some good lace chunks stick, looks pretty classic for the style.

Smell is alright, sweet and malty, caramel, lots of biscuit, toast, iron, very clean and bready, although not a whole lot going on.

Taste is similar, good malty character, bread, biscuit and toast, a bit of very light fruitiness and a bit of floral hopping, has a sweet edge to it thats a bit much for my marzen liking, but its relatively clean.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. A pretty solid marzen but a little on the sweet side.

This beer poured a somewhat hazy deeper copper color, with about a one finger of offwhite head to it. Head recedes to a film and left nice thick streaks of lacing on the glass. Nose is of caramelized malts, touch of sugar, touch of grassiness, and a biscuity background. Taste falls very much in line with the nose thought it is a bit more sweet than the smell let on, but still has has nuttiness, toasted bread, and some caramel with a large backing of sweetness. Lighter side of medium bodied, medium carbonation, crisp and clean on the tongue. This is by and far my favorite Oktoberfest thusfar.

Poured a nice clear amber color with a small head that left lacing down the glass. Caramel dominates the smell. Caramel starts the taste and then bready toasty, with a small bit of hops on the end. Very drinkable light medium body, didn't leave much aftertaste, very refreshing.

On tap at Watch City.

Medium bodied beer with subtle fruity aroma. Sweet fruity, caramel and bready taste. Smooth mouthfeel and easily drinkable. Nice flavored beer, unique taste, whereas many of the WC offerings taste overly similar. Very easy to drink, a good beer for non BA's who don't know what to order or feel overwhelmed walking into a brew pub.

Pours a medium amber, with a small head that leaves just a touch of lacing. Aroma is slightly bready, but mainly dominated with caramel and toffee, with a hint of hops. Flavor is caramel, toffee, some breadiness, and finishes with a small whiff of hops. Medium in body, quite nice.

Scored some of this from AOBF - Stammtisch!! Poured darker than most US versions, and a lot darker than many Germans. Had a dark copper color, almost a chestnut/mahogany hue. Head was thin and fine, and left decent lacing. I struggled as to how to score this, being so dark....though not in the style for color, I thought it looked so appealing that I gave it high marks here. Nose had a mild caramel aspect, with hints of hops....though a bit on the mild side. It had more body than most Fests, being a solid medium-plus. It also passed rather smoothly on the tongue, going down the hatch quite easily. Caramel flavor was quite pronounced, with a hefty amount mingling with the malty toastiness. A smattering of hops rounded out the flavor, in a very lasting aftertaste. Though a bit of a different take on a Märzen, it was a solid offering from a respected local Pub and Brewer. Zum Wohl!!

A dark orangy colored Festbier with just a little foaminess on top and not much head to speak of. Aromas were of caramel and juicy fruit, with some wierd fermentation by product smells. Tasted somewhat clean and sweet with toffeish and caramel flavors peeking through and a little hop bite at the end which I wished was more present. As with their other lagers it had too much fruit aromas and flavors for it to be a really good lager. Maybe lower fermentation temps would help.

Presentation: Hand bottled @ Watch City for BeerAdvocate.com

Appearance: A sort of red-copper-brown hued beer that gives way to a white thick and creamy foam head -- excellent retention.

Smell: Soft and complex aroma of raw hops, light fruits, apple skin.

Taste: A smooth beer, creamy, but with a coarse raw hop leaf feel on the palate. Hop flavours are soft, with a light bitter bite and a note of spice. Malt flavours are also soft, but grainy and towards the dry end. A slight raisiny flavour emerges from the hops, then folds back into the hops and malt. Some toasted, biscuit, light chocolate and roasted malt flavours can also be noticed, along with a gentle fruit (apple and apple skin) and ester character. Finish holds a touch dry grain flavour.

Notes: I really enjoyed this Oktoberfest. Much different than others on the market, making it a unique treat. Brewed with Munich, Vienna and Special Roast malts.
