Sampled on-tap at the brewpub in Dec. 2004.
This beer poured a dark, opaque brown color with creamy, light brown foam that settled slowly and clung to the glass. The smell was malty with a touch of light sweetness. The taste was lightly sweet (sugary) and malty (flavors of caramel malt, Belgian malt, mollasses, and a hint of coffee) with hints of spices in the finish (cardamom??). The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy and sweet with medium-full body and low carbonation. The sweetness lingered in the aftertaste. This was a good, interesting beer. Difficult to categorize.

This came from the tap a deep brown almost garnet with a thick frothy head; tan in color with a thick sheet of lace.
The nose was dominated by a roasted malt aroma, with just a hint of hops. The taste is roasted malt with mild hops. There is a mild spice character on the finish. Just a hint, nothing much to speak of. Too be honest, I dont detect the chutney spoken of in the description. Lightly spiced. The spice hits you in the back of the throat. To me, this is a Titan Ale with a little spice.
