Bottle has a keg label on it, stating it is 9.1 abv, vintaged '03.
Appears a hazy orange with a small white head and tiny bits of lace.
Smell is flowery, sweet caramel candy, with cinnamon and nutmeg standing out.
Taste is of spicey, sweet cinnamon with dashes of nutmeg.
Mouthfeel is of spicey garbage, along with a half-decent malt balance that just isn't making up for everything else that is lacking in this brew.

My last beer of the day at Watch City yesterday. This was listed as the 2003 Saturnalea Grand Cru, with an abv of 9.6. They serve it in a wine style glass, which showed off the cloudy, almost light cherry color. Not much head at all. Aroma was muted spice and present yeast. I found the mouthfeel to be medium+, and the taste to be a nice blend of spice and yeastiness. I believe it said it had been aging for two months, it may even benefit from aging for longer than that.

Pours a hazy dark rusty brown, with a medium sized rocky tan head that quickly diminishes, leaving some lacing. Aroma is spicy, hoppy, some brown sugar, bready toasted grains, and a bit of butterscotch. Flavor has a bit of the toasted grains, a good bit of butterscotch (the flavor is much more present than the aroma). Medium-full bodied, fairly tingly mouth feel.

This ale poured a hazy, amber-brown color with white foam. The smell was very mild: butterscotch, rum. The taste was malty, with hints of butterscotch and caramel and biscuit, and a bit of hops poking through all the malt. The mouthfeel was buttery, creamy, smooth with an almost dry astringency to the finish. This was an extremely nice, well-aged strong ale, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Labeled a Belgian Brown ale. Deep brown color. Thick mouthfeel, coats the throat. This beer is all over the map flavor-wise. Green apple flavor from yeast (think Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout flavor), slight smokiness, alcohol is very present. cloyingly sweet and unbalanced by small amount of hops. Gets messy as it warms with many flavors fighting for control. Yeast flavor sweetens and bitters as it warms.
