On-tap 8/28/07 at Watch City Brewing Co. in Waltham, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light yellow color, with a short white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is loaded with spices, particularly white pepper and coriander, along with a little orange peel, a good wheat base and a light malt background.
T: The taste is likewise very spicy with the white pepper dominating, unlike many Witbiers that overdo the coriander. The malt character is thin and there’s a mild hops presence, but there’s still a decent overall balance. The after-taste is slightly bready with a little sweetness.
M: Crisp and very smooth, light body, medium carbonation, finish is very clean.
D: Pretty tasty once you get used to the spiciness, goes down very easily, not filling at all, very nice representation of style with a twist, a good light and unique beer to stick with for a whole evening.
