On-tap 8/28/07 at Watch City Brewing Co. in Waltham, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a dark amber color, with a short white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is of pale hops and caramelized malt, simple but nice.
T: The taste is kind of hoppy for the style, with a nice compliment of caramelized malt. It contains the same basic flavors that you normally get in a good Kolsch, just more of them. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and very smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.
D: Tasty, goes down easily, not filling at all, good representation of style, this is a nice simplistic beer to keep on drinking for long time. I was at Watch City that day with a friend that normally drinks Bud Light and mixes some Hefeweizens on occasion and they liked this beer enough to take home two growlers of it.
