This beer pours a nice thick, rich, opaque dark brown/black. A 1/4 inch of light brown head that recedes to a film. Thick sudsy lacing coats the glass. Nose is of oatmeal, major brown sugar notes, chocolate, hazelnut and toffee. Taste is oatmeal and chocolate up front, more of a mily chocolate that then moves towards a bitter dark chocolate and a touch toffee to sweaten out the finish. This is a complex and rich beer with a touch of alcohol atrigency in the finish. Full body, low carbonation, thick, rich, creamy feel with a slightly sticky finish. This one would be easy to sit with for a while!

On cask at the brewpub, and served at room temperature. A very lacey black oatmeal stout, very coffee with choclate and coffee aroma. Above average mouthfeel, with texture from oatmeal and maybe coffee grinds. A good stout, without having the nitro turned up, an still get the big mouthfeel and lotsa lace. Unknown high a.b.v.
