The beer pours a dark amber color with a thick frothy off-white head that fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a mild roasted character with, bits of caramel sweetness. There smoke aroma is tame as well as the bacon character which is faint at best. The taste is good. It has a nice shot of dry smokiness up front with some roasted and crystal malts as well. Again, I'm not detecting much bacon character, which may be a good thing. Although, I was looking forward to a big bacon taste. The mouthfeel is decent. It is a low/medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a nice concept beer, but the rauchbier base is still very enjoyable.

I drank this into a tasting glass at EBF.
The beer pours a very clear dark amber, basically a marzen, with a light tan head, ok retention and lacing.
The aroma is on the lighter side but dominated by two of the best flavors, smoke and a hint of bacon at the end.
The taste is right on the nose with lots of smoke and a bacon finish. Its not overwhelming which makes this beer drinkable in terms of its taste but its limited by its body. The feel is rather light, which is confusing to me and ruins the experience a little.
Overall, pretty decent effort and little work and this beer will be really good.
