Thanks to largesarge for bringing back a growler to share.
A-Deep, dark, reddish hued copper with a thin and wispy off-white head that reduced to a sparse veil and left minimal spots of lace.
S-WOW! This is billed as a spearmint infused IPA and that is exactly what you get! Like fresh mulled, whole leaf, spearmint iced tea. You better like spearmint or this one is NOT for you.
T-A boatload of spearmint flavour upfront dominating faint notes of spicy hops in the background. Malt sweetness is barely determinable. I certainly like the attempt but the mint is a bit too dominating.
M-Medium-light bodied but rather flat. Not sure if this was a growler issue or not but it was less than a week old and treated well. Fairly dry, astringent finish.
D-Well, my first mint bomb for sure! I liked it but could only handle this in rather small doses. An impressive effort for sure but it could use some tweaking (tone down the mint) to make this more drinkable.

Thanks to largesarge for sharing a growler on 11/11/10.
A - Disnensed from the growler as a dark reddish, copper-toned liquid with a sparse off-white head, which completely vanished and deposited only traces of lace around the glass.
S - First thought... this smells like Scope. Mint. Mint. And more mint. Honestly, that's all I get in the aroma, and I dug deep.
T - Extremely minty flavor (as the aroma implied) with any discernable hop character taking a backseat to the minty freshness of chewing gum or mouthwash. The presence of the mint is totally domineering and overpowers everything else, unfortunately.
M - Kind of flat and lifeless, unfortunately. Not sure how old the growler was, though. Finishes bittersweet on the palate with plenty of minty sweetness and just a pinch of hop bitterness.
D - Man, you REALLY gotta like mint to enjoy this beer. I mean, I enjoy the occasional piece of spearmint chewing gum or gargling with minty fresh Scope each morning, but this was a bit too much, I'm afraid. I'll definitely give them an "A" for effort, though. Crank down the minty attributes of this beer a few notches, and this may be much more enjoyable.
