Brewed for their "14 Degrees of Making Bacon “Cask”travaganza"
Served in a pint glass
A: This beer pours a deep chestnut brown, amber color with mahogany hues to it. A 1/4 inch of khaki, light brown head to it.
S: Nose is somewhat muted. Hints of sweetness are present - caramel malts and raisin, and a nice chili chipotle note. Hints of smoke come through well in to the beer.
T: Taste has a crazy kick to it! Sweetness and raisin is in the forefront and then the spice assault starts with cayenne and chili. Hints of smokiness are mingling in with the chili flavoring. Not much of a "bacon" campfire taste that a lot of rauch beers have, and this is really to their credit. Nice chipotle, cayenne burn in the aftertaste.
M: Medium to fuller bodied, lower carbonation, rich, silky feel.
O: Goes down easily, ridiculously tasty, the kick in this bad boy is all the spicing and it's great, somewhat filling, and a fantastic take on the style. I fell in love with this beer. I would definitely drink this every chance I got!
