A: This beer pours a deep copper color with a 1 finger of foamt white head. Head retains nicely leaving sheets of lacing in the glass.
S: Nose is green tea - aka BIG earthy notes, some citrus, and a light malt character.
T: Taste is... well after the waitress' info...thought this would be more malt forward. Not even remotely the case. Big earthy notes at the forefront...grassy, leafy mingled with the green tea undercurrent. Some pale malts come through in the middle. Finish is grassy, slight lemon citrus, and a caramel sweetness.
M: lighter side of medium body, medium carbnation, lightly oily body.
O: Goes down easy, quite tasty, not too filling, minor kick, nice variation of style. If it weren't a cold ass day, I would have stuck with this...but it was a perfect stout day. This is for sure an easy drinking beer to spend some time with if ever you're in Watch City.

Enjoyed this special beer at BBF. It is 56 IBUs and was brewed with a special sencha green tea from Shizuoka, Japan. Premium Gyokuro Okabe is the variety of Green tea used (Gyokuro Okabe is grown and harvested in Okabe Town, Shizuoka Prefecture(subdivision)). I was told that this tea took on alot of the characteristics of the Saaz & Hallertauer finishing hops.
A - Poured a light gold / amber with a super nice billowy-esc head that faded to leave thick side lacing and a nice blanket.
S - The aroma definately has nice tea notes, good and earthy with some bitter hops on the finish along with more tea. The Saaz is definately noticeable, along with some sweet malts.
T - The only falter here for me. The tea, while nice on the nose, is somewhat lost here. As is the thing with pretty much every tea beer I've had, the tea just isnt upfront enough. Its too subtle, with the malt sweetness standing out more along with the hops.
M - Very nice mouthfeel here, lighter carbonation but very very drinkable.
O - I really enjoyed this beer, unfortunately it failed to offer as much green tea as I'd hoped for. Still, I would like to try this one again at some point if they brew it.
