On-tap 4/5/2014 at Watch City Brewpub, in Waltham, MA served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep color, with a thin white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is faint but contains caramelized malts, grain and some hops.
T: The taste starts out very bready with flavors of grain and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. Then some malt sweetness follows. The hops presence is good for the style and brings a nice balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.
M: Crisp and smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to pound down for a long time.

Served in a pint glass
A: This beer pours a hazy yellow with a 1/4 inch of white head. Head recedes to a film leaving chinky wisps of lacing.
S: Nose is very sweet, fruity mango, pineapple and grain.
T: Taste is far fruittier (in a pleasant way) than most Kolsch beers. Strawberry, mango and light pineapple brefore a hearty grain underbelly makes its way through. There's a light hint of caramel in the finish.
M: Light body, medium carbonation, oily feel with a dry finish.
O: Goes down easy, tasty, not too filling, mild kick, a nice take on the style. I'd have preferred a more crisp body, but I highly enjoyed this beer.

This special beer was brewed for the Worcester Fire Department with proceeds going to the John Davies chidden fund, a fallen Worcester firefighter. This is a limited brew with German malts, Nobel hops, and yeast. Lagered for weeks in gold conditioning. 23 IBUs. Enjoyed on tap at the new Amherst Brewing Company.
A - Poured into a standard pint glass a clear golden hue with a thin but creamy half a finger head that left a very nice blanket and light side lacing.
S - Aromas of biscuit, light clean grains with a slight gentle floral hop finish. Very nice clean malt sweetness.
T - Nice clean crisp kolsch here. Good malt sweetness with a clean yeasty bready middle. Light floral finish and subtle hop aftertaste. This is very, very clean kolsch. Rather basic but well done.
M - Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Super drinkable but low on the carbonation. Very clean in the mouth.
O - Overall I enjoyed this beer alot. A solid representation of a kolsch. Glad to support my local fire department. Would buy this again.
