A 500ml bottle with a BB of Feb 2017. Picked up a while back from a bargain store. Described on the label as a traditional amber bitter; brewed in commemoration of WWI. For each bottle, a small donation is made to the 'Not Forgotten' association.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A clear, brownish-amber colour with good carbonation. Yields a small head of white foam that lasts for a few moments before subsiding to a surface layer.
S: Aroma of mild caramel malt with hints of grain, ale yeast, a twinge of toffee and faint stewed hops. Pleasant but unexpressive.
T: Tastes of caramel malt with notes of husky grain, stewed hops and ale yeast. Slightly sweet. A subdued bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is light and slightly watery, with mild carbonation. Aftertaste of harsh stewed leaves and faint grain.
O: Pretty average, what some might call 'boring brown beer'. Broadly OK but lacking in depth or character. Not sure if this is a regular brew or a one-off, but no need to seek it out.

Bottled and subtitled battlefield beer great war ale
With a small donation going to the not forgetten society
Malty aroma and taste with some bitterness
I'm sure cask this is pretty good but ironically bottled it tastes like a recreation of the muted beers brewed to rationing and state sanctions during the first world war
