4oz pour as part of a tasting flight of all beers then available.
Pretty light in color, very clear shiny copper, with a good sticky head.
The brewmaster says this is all Amarillo for aroma and flavor, with Magnum for bittering. I am remiss in not asking how old this particular sample was, but citrus way pretty much absent. Strong whiffs of cotton candy are accompanied by banana and tropical fruit.
Caramelized banana, tropical fruit, and still a cotton candy sweetness. Moderate bitterness, this seems heavy on the malt.
The carbonation is creamy and fits well with the big, round body. Not a trace of the rather high abv is to be found anywhere.
I like it, it's a bit off the beaten path of American IPAs and California examples. My expectations were not high after reviews on some non-beer sites, but the beer was not ever knocked. My reservations seem to have been unfounded.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
