This robust seasonal ale is brewed with rich Maris Otter, Crystal Medium, Chocolate, and Special Roast malt varietals. A dark, complex ale with an 8.6% ABV. Pairs well with anything Winter, including a nice cigar by the fireplace.

Poured into a small (10-12oz?) tulip glass.

A: Dark brown to reddish but the exact color was hard to tell in the dim restaurant. Very minimal head by the time my glass reached the table.

S: Very strong cinnamon with a trace of higher alcohol. No hop aroma evident.

T: A pleasing alcohol bite followed by a kick from the cinnamon.

M: Medium body with minimal carbonation and a crisp dry finish.

D: Good after dinner drink

Pours a dark black color. 1/3 inch head of a pale tan color. Good retention and great lacing. Smells of alcohol, roasted malt, slight sweet malt, dark citrus, spice, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of a Winter Warmer or a Strong Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and slightly creamy with an average to low carbonation level. Tastes of slight alcohol, roasted malt, spice (all spice), dark citrus, and slight hop. Overall, a complex flavor, smooth, full-bodied, and good blend.

A - Poured a somewhat cloudy, dark, burgundy color with a one-finger, thick, tan, head of bubbly foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass.

S - It smelled of caramel, molasses and touches of cinnamon. A slightly earthy aroma, as well.

T - Rich sweet caramel malts with a bready taste. It is a little boozy with a warm spiciness - some nutmeg and cinnamon.

M - It was sharp and crisp with a very dry finish. A medium-bodied ale.

D - This is very good. It dances around the line between winter warmer and strong ale, but whatever you call it you can call it good.
