A - Poured an opaque, dark, dark burgundy color with a thick, foamy head of off-white foam. It left sudsy sheets of lace on the glass.
S - It smelled very sweet and malty. A little floral and some nuttiness.
T - It had a really nutty taste. Sweet bready malt with a touch of booziness.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a dry finish.
O - This just has an odd flavor for a barleywine. Sorta big and malty but not enough. No hop punch and an odd nuttiness.

Pours a black color. 1/5 inch head of an off-tan color. Slight retention and good lacing. Smells of alcohol, sweet malt, slight roasted malt, hint of syrup, and a hint of dark citrus. Fits the style of an American Barleywine. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, hops, sweet malt, slight roasted malt, hint of syrup, slight caramel, and slight dark citrus. Overall, good aroma, great body, and great blend. This was a sample of their 2010 vintage.
