On tap at the brewery. Ask for a sample of this not expecting much and ended up ordering a full glass. It sounds weird as can be but everything comes together nicely. Pours a light amber/murky orange color with a small off white head. Aroma is big time Brett here, even some additional sour notes on top of the funk, dry oak, light liquor from the rum barrel, nice fruits like peaches and pears, and some clear dry hopping. Flavor follows with a massive lunch of brett funk that is balance out by a nice caramel malty sweetness, but then smacked in the face by a dry oaky and hoppy bitterness, and finally leaving some fruity funk on the palate. Heavy body for the style but not syrupy at all, medium carbonation. Man. Overall this is basically a very heavy Brett saison that they massively hopped and aged in these barrels. I can’t call this an IPA, but it’s really good and one of the better Brett beers I’ve had. Nice to see this after expecting a hot mess. Definitely worth your time.
