Once again, thanks to the Florida homie 2Beardz for hooking up these Tom Petty beers.
Pours a nice clean barely cloudy golden color completely in the wheelhouse of what a kolsch should look like. 1/2" virgin white head. Hits the light sulphur lager like nose and light grain impressions.
Taste captures the barest impingement of fruitiness from the ale yeast, but the other lager like qualities are still around. Good grain taste and mouth feel. While it is indeed situated for hot weather, don't go thinking this is just a simple ass beer without flavor, this packs a good amount into a relatively low abv session like beer. Definitely should satisfy kolsch fans. You get that little dab of fruit punch and a hefty golden waves of grain impression alongside that lager sulphur breathiness. Carbonation is high and prickly, which is to say its very appropriate for style.
You belong among the wildflowers. You belong somewhere you feel free. This beer only amplifies that which forever resonates.

An "American Kolsch" released for Tom Petty's birthday celebration and album listening party.
Pours a clear straw yellow with thin fizzy white head. Smell: clean, cereal grains, a bit pils-y. Taste: a little pale malt sweetness, spicy and grassy, cereal grains, lemony finish. Light bodied, fast drinking. A crowd pleasing lawnmower beer.
