25cl on tap at La Trappe, San Francisco, CA. Served in a Kasteel chalice.

Appearance: Very dark brown - some ruby red highlights when held up to the light. Thick tan head, lots of lacing all over the glass.

Smell: Light roasted malt, a little metallic and sweet at the same time.

Taste: Smooth - roasted malt, hint of coffee bitterness, herbal/English bittering hops at the finish.

Mouthfeel: Light carbonation, slick, a tiny bit sticky on the teeth.

Overall / Drinkability: Nicely roasty for a porter, but not deeply flavorful - but still well balanced. Went well with desert (Orval based creme brulee). Easily drinkable, but not something that captured my attention after finishing a glass.
