Pours a nice deep ruby copper color with a nice fluffy two finger head. Head falls slowly and leaves lots of sticky lace behind.
Aroma is nice lots of caramel malt sweetness not over powered by the barrel aging. Some nice vanilla, bourbon and wood notes even make the citrus hops smell of pine. Very pleasant with out being overdone, just enjoyable to sit and sniff.
Taste is big lots of caramel malts with good woody vanilla notes mingled with some light bourbon. Again very nicely done was wondering if aging an amber would over power the beer, not in this case anyway, makes a good amber better. Finish is lingering vanilla. bourbon and nice citrus hop notes to balance out the sweetness.
Mouthfeel is good solid medium with smooth perfect level of carbonation, that makes it very enjoyable.
Overall very nicely done, wonderfully enjoyable brew, can't wait to get some more. Great job Josh.
