This DIPA has the full mouthfeel and pillowy body indicative of a New England IPA - and it should, we've been New England’s beer since 1890! We’ve generously hopped the beer with Rakau and Ekuanot hops to express notes of apricot, tropical fruit, melon and eucalyptus.

From a 16 oz can dated 9/15/21. Sampled Feb 12, 2022.

Murky, milky, hazy yellow amber pour with a frothy ivory head that slowly fades.

Aromas of tropical fruit, melon, orange, and a lower profile breadiness.

Medium mouthfeel. Soft.

The taste starts sweet and then those tropical fruit bitter characters kick in. Smooth though.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Luke's in Plymouth for about fourteen dollars. My sixth brew from these guys. No canned on date that I can decipher. Like most beers from these guys: mediocre.

From a 16oz can, dated 08/04/21. Served in a willi becher.

Pours a thin-appearing, milky-pale grapefruit juice colour with two-plus fingers of soapy suds. Retention is pretty good, leaving bubbly wads of slippery lacing.

Nose is sweetly tart and citrusy. Lemon, lime, sugar cookies.

Tasting lime and grapefruit pith, soda cracker, apricot and lemon juice. Sticky melon comes later. The can label promises that notes of eucalyptus will be expressed and, while I’m not getting eucalyptus, I think I understand what they mean by that - there’s a smidge of green, leafy, almost minty bitterness which gets right up into the sinuses.

Feel is crisp and clean (at least initially, but see later), almost seltzer-like, relatively light bodied and aggressively carbonated. Perilously easy drinking despite a sort of icky, mucousy, fruity slipperiness that builds up over time (I.e., multiple cans).

Overall, far exceeded expectations and no doubt my score reflects that. Drinks very much like a soda, or a seltzer - could pound multiples of this on a hot afternoon and wake up hours later with a terrible sunburn and only a very vague recollection of having said or done something embarrassing. Or, at least, so I would suppose.
