This strong Scottish ale is brewed with malt imported from England. English pale malt, munich malt, caramel malt and roasted barley give this beer its deep amber color. Traditional English hops are also used in the recipe. The beer is full bodied and rich with a hint of smokiness, sure to warm you up on a cold winters evening.

got this on tap with a pizza at cool springs brewery.
came out in pint glass dark cola color with minimal mocha head. good lacing throughout glass
smell was light all around. as is the case in many brew pubs, they serve the beer too cold which masks the notes on the nose... faint smells of malts, caramel & mocha chocolate
tastes of caramel malts, english hops & butterscotch. there is a faint smokiness on the aftertaste and a slight alcohol flavor comes through with the pizza I was eating
body is light. interesting that their website calls this full-bodied cause it seems a little watery to me. right amount of carbonation.
yes, I would say this is drinkable. nice scottish ale to enjoy with a meal but lacks depth to really enjoy by itself. probably the best beer this brewery has to offer.
