Bottle from Green Mountain Liquors. Hazy golden pour, soft, bubbly head. Aroma favors the tequila barrel aging, definitive notes. Taste brings in the wheat elements, bready, body seems light. Fades pretty fast, dies on the palate Starts well, and then fades into oblivion.

L- Pours a clear, golden orange with a huge, flufdt, white head that dissapates quickly. Leaves lots of lacing and has much carnonation.
S- Wonderdul tequila and breadiness.
T- the taquula is just the right amount. No hop in taste. Some breadiness.
F- Subdued
O- Expected hopiness. Taquila pleasant. Try again and keep taquila idea.

Had a sample, and I was amazed at the aroma: definitely tequila. Otherwise, a good beer.

From the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. This odd little brew pours a beautiful dirty blonde
with a fantastic head of white rocky foam that settles to a thick fluffy layer and features
some excellent sudsy lacing. Nose of light tequila and herbal hops with other herbal elements
that are metallic and strong with a touch of lemon zest. Flavors follow the nose with mild light
tequila and light lemon zest followed by an herbal onslaught that verges on ginger ale with
medium herbal hop notes and citrus coming through on the back. Decent mouth feel; medium
light body, medium high carbonation that keeps things lively, and a nagging ginger and hop note
that finishes lightly bitter and a touch thin. Overall; while I once in a blue moon like tequila in say
a margarita this one does not hit the right notes for me and is more reminiscent of the ginger beer
fad that thankfully did not blossom into a nation wide love. It is decent and easy to drink, but this is
really the first from this brewery I did not care for although it was somewhat interesting.

I didn't really know what to expect in this offering. Ophelia is very different almost unclassable at this point. It is very tequila intensive. You gotta know that and like that idea up front. Fortunately I do!
L: 90% clear golden with 3/4" heavy sticky lacing that hangs on. Head reduces mostly in a few minutes and is gone in 10 or so. It's like a lager with lots of body.
S: Overall a light citrusy nose. Lots of lemon zest; some bread and a little grass. Very light and pleasant.
T: Citrus/lemon with an overall dry wood character. Vanilla / some dry grass / light biscuit. And then all of this is mixed with Tequila! Very obviously tequila infused. But I like it!
F: light mouth feel. Not grainy feeling at all. Smooth light carbonation. Nice.
O: I like Ophelia. But I also like tequila. That's an important thing to keep in mind with this unique and interesting offering from Breckinridge Brewery.

Yep, this one is barrel-aged, that's for sure. Got a very strong tequila smell and taste, which lent a much different vibe to this beer. Typically I don't go for either hoppy or wheat, but I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. To be fair, I haven't tried the regular version, but I have to believe this one would be better. Very foamy with a big head when poured into a cup. I agree with other reviews that said it played up and felt more alcoholic than the 6.6% would indicate, probably as a result of the aging process. This was a good experiment and I'd like to see them try it with some of their other beers as well.

22 oz. bottle, no bottle date or best by date.
L: Pours gold with a light haze under a 1” cream colored foam cap that is sticky and takes 3 minutes to reduce to 1/3 its original size.
S: Some mild tequila, light bread, mild earthiness, citrus, wood.
T: A mild dankness joined by traces of vanilla, tequila, oak, citrus. The beer achieves an elegant balanced between the wheat, hop, oak and the tequila flavors. The citrus hop flavors play with the wheat the way the orange plays with a Belgian Wit while the hop citrus also plays with the tequila flavors like the lime in a Margarita. These flavors all come together in a very nice way followed by a mild oaky aftertaste and lingering citrus tastes. It is medium dry.
F: Lusciously creamy with a medium to medium light body and above average, soft carbonation.
O: Refreshing with nothing too big or overstated.

22oz bottle poured into a pint glass. "BA OPH 2015" on the label
A: Hazy yellowish orange with a two finger head
S: Wheat, maybe a bit of spice but not a lot going on
T: Matches the nose. Not sure when in 2015 it was brewed but tastes a bit dank
M: Medium-bodied, crisp but not much to write home about
O: I didn't pick up any tequila notes. From what I've seen the etching on the bottle involves a "best before" code. So possibly best sometime in 2015 though the letters are impossible to decipher... I bought this at retail not long ago and maybe I need to find a fresher bottle for sale but I'm not sure how much better it will be
Actually never mind. I just saw (after writing the above yet looking for more details about the date code) this brewery's name was acquired by AB-InBev thus I won't be able to try it again
