From a growler it pours a clear pale gold producing a short finger of shortlived, frothy, white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is pale malt with grapefruit & floral notes & a pineapple hint. Taste is pale malt, pineapple, grapefruit & a hint of brine. I don't pick up the wheat & the Belgian yeast is weak. Finishes clean & dry. Afrertaste is dry & dissipates rapidly. Brine increases as you get deeper into the pour. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation with a dry aftertaste.

$6.00 at World of Beer in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Served up a near clear, golden body with a slim, snow white head. If nothing else, it looks fairly nice.
Smell: A mundane wheat element dose with a phenolic spiciness and modest notes hinting of the added grapefruit peelings.
Taste: Wheat laden maltiness, with a doughy, grainy quality and light sweetness imparted. Phenolics pair with the lightly citric snap of grapefruit. Faint hint of salt. Bitterish tone on the back-half. Dry, phenolic finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: As with most of their line-up, I found to be simply fine and okay.

quite a good beer, possibly my favorite from my visit to the impressive new facility, but to call this a saison i think is a stretch beyond reasonableness. sure it might have some wheat in it, but thats where the congruence with the style guidelines stop. its barley even belgian in its yeast complexion, let alone wild or funky or raw or native or weird or farmy or anything saison yeast can be. its almost generic, certainly boring on its yeast profile, and as a saison, its rather poor, but thank goodness for the grapefruit and salt. they really pop this one off. the grapefruit has a fresh ruby red thing to it that takes me to florida in the winter, and the salt makes it almost taste like a cocktail, a paloma or something, really works with the fleshy wheat base and all the carbonation, quite summery and quaffable. piquant grapefruit is the dominant flavor, almost but not quite filling the role the yeast probably should have, but a fine tasting, unique, and easy to drink glass of beer. surprised this hasnt seen bottles yet.

Not bad light colored ale with a decent mix of sweet and salty. Pours light and crisp. Not a heavy ale.clear golden and dry. Not quite a saison In my opinion
